“I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” — Matthew 16:18

The story of Bethel International Pentecostal Church (BIPC) is a testament to the faithfulness of God. Just as believers were scattered in the Book of Acts to spread the Gospel, the roots of BIPC grew from the migration of faithful families from Ranni, Kerala, India—the “Queen of the Hills”—to Leverkusen, Germany.

🕊️ A Foundation of Prayer (The Early Days)

The spiritual seeds of BIPC were sown through the devotion of Eliyamma, the mother of Abraham Puthenpuraykkal. While attending Tamil-language services, she prayed fervently for a Malayalam-speaking fellowship.

  • The Answer: Her son, Abraham, miraculously accepted Jesus, leading to the start of small prayer meetings and evangelistic outreach.
  • 1997–2000: With the help of Pastor K. M. Baby, the first Malayalam worship services began in Düsseldorf. A fellowship of 25 believers flourished, witnessing many salvations and baptisms.

⛪ Seasons of Persistence

Growth often comes with trials. Following Pastor Baby’s return to India, the fellowship faced a period of transition. Believers scattered to German or Tamil churches, and some moved to other cities.

Despite these challenges, the vision never died. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, prayer meetings continued in homes, fueled by a small group of believers who refused to let the ministry stop.

🌱 A New Chapter: Expansion & Growth

The ministry eventually expanded with a renewed vision, reaching as far as Frankfurt and London.

  • 2011 onwards: Brother Shaju Samuel, along with his wife Jancy and their children, became the pillars of the ministry, conducting home visits and sharing the Gospel.
  • 2015: With the blessing of Pastor Prince (who had served the Tamil church since 2000), a dedicated church hall was rented in Bergisch Gladbach.
  • Faithful Service: Pastor Shaju Samuel would travel 250km every Sunday to lead worship, ensuring the flame of the fellowship remained bright.

🌍 From Malayalam to International

What began as a desire for a Malayalam-speaking service soon grew into a much larger divine purpose. God began bringing people from all nations—Pakistan, Africa, Sri Lanka, and Germany—to the fellowship.

To reflect this diverse family of God, the ministry in Bergisch Gladbach officially became Bethel International Pentecostal Church (BIPC).

✨ BIPC Today

Today, BIPC stands as a vibrant, growing community. We continue to preach the Word, conduct house visits, and hold fasting prayers, standing firm on the promise that:

“The foundation of God stands firm.”

We give all glory to God and honor the brothers and sisters who have stood faithfully in this ministry from the beginning.
